5 Pro Makeup Tricks You Probably Don’t Know
Who says the pros are the only ones who get to know the top makeup tips and tricks?! I wanted to give you 5 tricks that will drastically improve your makeup game. These steps are easy and only require a few products!
TRICK 1: USING LIP PENCILS INSTEAD OF LIPSTICKS FOR LONG LASTING LIP COLOR
If you’re tired of applying your lipstick throughout the day, consider using a lip liner instead. Because lip pencils are fairly dry, they tend to last much longer than traditional lipsticks. To apply, simply line the lips as usual then turn the pencil to the side and fill in the rest of your lips. Your lip color will last for hours without having to reapply! You can even do this underneath your lipstick to make the color really stand out.
TRICK 2: BRIGHTENING THE EYES WITH A LIGHT CONCEALER AND SOFT DOME BRUSH
After a long day of work, you are bound to have some heavy circles under the eyes (sleep, what’s that?). If you plan on going out after work, a quick and easy fix is to apply a lightweight concealer and blend out with a soft dome brush. You can do this on top of your makeup as long as you apply the concealer in a light layer. Be sure to set afterwards with a pressed powder and flat sponge.
TRICK 3: USING ANY PRESSED POWDER 3 SHADES DARKER AS A CONTOUR POWDER
This next tip is super easy, yet often overlooked. You can use any pressed powder that is three shades darker than your skin and contour with it! Since many brands do not make contour powders, this will save you money and time trying to find the best contour products. To apply, take your Makeup Geek Angled Stippling Brush and apply the pressed powder just under the cheekbones. This will give a soft and more wearable contoured look.
TRICK 4: TURNING ANY LIPSTICK INTO A MATTE FINISH ONE BY DUSTING ON LOOSE FACE POWDER
One of the trends for 2014 has been matte lips. A problem I have found is my favorite lip color is not a matte finish. My solution is to take any face powder and apply it on top of your lipstick to turn your lips matte. Simply take a tissue and tear off a layer so it’s super thin. Place the tissue on top of your lips and dust the powder on top with a fluffy face brush. Voila! Problem solved. You now have instant matte lips.
TRICK 5: FIXING THE “OOMPA LOOMPA” FACE BY BLENDING DARKER FOUNDATION DOWN YOUR NECK
I know we’ve all been guilty of the orange face or foundation that was too dark for your body, (sadly this was my entire time in high school)! An easy fix is to take that same foundation with your beauty blender and blend the foundation down your neck. The key is to fade the color as you go down your neck otherwise you trade the line around your face to a line around your neck. You can even dab a bit onto your décolletage to help blend more. For future use, find a lighter foundation and custom mix with your current one to match your skin perfectly.
